Friday came very quickly this week, I can’t believe it is our very first Photoshop Friday! Thank you so much for all the ideas for upcoming articles, I will definitely be using many of them in the weeks to come. So many of you requested that I keep the tutorials simple, I agree that so many around the web are so detailed, they have 18 steps to create some sort of background or color enhancement that could have been created in just 3 or 4. I will definitely create my tutorials for the beginner or intermediate level photoshop user. Whether you are a blogger, amateur photographer or someone ready to take it to the next level, learning the basics of photoshop (or even Elements) is the very best thing you can do for your images presented on the web.
Today we will start with some basic lightening and brightening When starting out, it is so easy to fall in the the thinking pattern of “the more color the better” if a little blue sky looks good, why don’t I make it aqua blue to look great! Whenever I edit an image, I never, ever, ever use 100% of any color layer…what does that mean, let me show you. Here is an image of a beautiful girl I shot last summer. She looks beautiful, but I just want the eyese to pop a little bit more and add a little bit of color and depth to the background area.

So you have heard the talk, the new “facebook timeline” In a nutshell, it is the story of you. The look and feel is fresh, fun..with a little bit of pinterest thrown in. Every image you have ever posted on facebook or have been tagged in will appear on your page. Now don’t get worried, once you sign up you have 7 days to make it look the way you want (possibly delete that image where your best friend looks fabulous and you had just taken a bite of dinner)
Just click on the image to learn how to create your own timeline
