SWEETS AND CLEBRATIONS – BRAND DEVELOPMENT

hgd blog insetHannah came to happygirldesign for a complete re-branding. New company name, logo design, website, the works. Her business “Sweets and Celebrations” which caters to the greater Los Angeles area, focuses on custom desserts and party styling. Here is a little about Hannah:

hannah contact imageI am a California girl, born and raised, with a soft spot for the Eastern seaboard and all things pretty and preppy. After working in the field of high-end interior and furniture design for several years, I set out to pursue my dream of starting a lifestyle brand inspired by my love of domesticity and the aesthetic arts. My true passion is creating sensational lifestyles for my clients. From composing breathtaking desserts and styling elegant parties, to designing flawless homes, I provide my clients with the elements it takes to live beautifully and entertain impeccably.

We started off by creating the perfect logo, Hannah loves bling as much as I do, so the fun began. We thought we had it right, then decided it needed a different feel for her brand, so we scratched it, and started over, and I am so glad we did…

Then we moved on to designing her new website…I absolutely love everything about it…

Announcing the launch of Star Apple Edible Gardens

hgd blog inset

It has been so crazy/busy at happygirldesign that I have fallen way behind on my blogging! I have so many fun projects to share in the next few weeks, but let’s start with the amazing woman at Star Apple Edible Gardens.

Stefani and Leslie came to me in need of a new website to coincide with the launch of their new book The Beautiful Edible Garden

I was so intrigued by their business, creating aesthetically designed organic edible gardens. They provide landscape design, installation and full service maintenance so you can not only grow organic fruits and vegetables, but also make your garden a place of year-round beauty that is appealing and fits your personal style. I love it!

We worked very close together from start to finish to create the site they had been dreaming of. We went into the project with the original logo they had used for the last few years, but decided half way through that we also needed to create a new logo to work with the feel of their clean, modern site.

DECISIONS AND SOME FUN CHANGES FOR HAPPYGIRLDESIGN

DECISIONS AND SOME FUN CHANGES FOR HAPPYGIRLDESIGN

hgd blog inset

I can’t believe this year is almost over! It has been busy beyond my wildest dreams, and I have some amazing projects lined up in the New Year that I can’t wait to get started on!

What I have learned this year is although I love so many different aspects of my business, I may have just one too many balls in the air! Between all my custom website and logo design work, business branding consultation, photography and the online store, there are just not enough hours in the day! As I take a much needed hiatus from my photography business (the one good thing about living in the mid-west, I can really only shoot outdoors from May to November) I know something would need to be put aside.

After weighing all the pro’s and con’s, I have decided to close down my online store. All products from now until the end of the year will be 50%off, including pre-designed logos!

What I feel the most passion about is website building, design and branding. I just love taking an idea and turning it in to a reality. I also knew that I would like to offer a product that falls somewhere between a complete custom website design and a drag and drop template for blogging, so I am really excited to announce that in January I will begin offering “BLOG IN A BOX”

While doing some logo and facebook work with a client last month, she asked if I would consider doing some “light” website design work. She knew she wanted to keep it simple, just a few custom touches, but felt she wanted to write all of the text herself, had a smaller budget but still wanted a unique design, and just wanted a place to start from, but had no idea how to get there. This is how “BLOG IN A BOX” was born. This can also easily be used as a small business website or personal blogging platform.

In the next few weeks I will be putting on the final touches, but here are a few things that will be included:

You know I am always changing things up, so I will also be changing up my website to have it reflect a little more of my design work. It looks like it is going to be a very Happy New Year!

LOVING THE FARMYARD DARLINGS

I was so thrilled when the FARMYARD DARLINGS contacted me to spruce up their facebook page. In business just a year, their company has grown beyond their wildest dreams! Besides running an amazing shop in the San Francisco Bay area, they also create custom furniture made from reclaimed barn wood, everything from tables to barn doors for your home! I love all the custom tabs and slideshow of all the “loot” it really gives you a feel of who they are and the uniqueness of their business…stop by and say HOWDY  FARMYARD DARLINGS FACEBOOK PAGE

Announcing the launch of Amy Rubenstein / real estate & interiors

hgd blog inset

I adored working with my latest client Amy. When she approached me, she was looking for a way to create a brand that could combine her 2 specialties, real estate sales and interior design in one place.

We began with an inspiration board that reflected her style and love of color!

Our next step was the logo. I really felt the use of an illustration reflecting her personality would really help to pull together the look and feel of her brand. It took a few tries but I just love the end result!

The final step is the development of the site. I love so many things about this site…the fun colors, the slider, bold images in the sidebar that directs you to the different offerings. Amy is in love with her new website and frankly, I am too! Click here to visit her new site!
